Wrexham Village Bakery Half Marathon, Sun 19 Feb 2017
Race Report by Paul Alexander
Paul Alexander passed over the Welsh border as a lone Toddie to take part in this half marathon on Sunday, hoping his recent knee injury wasn’t going to hinder performance too much. This very fast and flat course takes on a 5.5 then a 7.6mi loop of the local rural parts of Wrexham. Paul crossed the finish line in 1.26.24 for 165th place of nearly 1400 finishers. The men’s race was won by Patrick Martin of Stockport Harriers in a blistering 1.07.56 with Diane McVey taking the Ladies race in 1.18.35. This excellently organised PB course is certainly one for future consideration in the Harriers GP.
