Saturday’s Wadsworth trog was held for its 30th edition, promising the usual gamble of weather conditions with ever-present bog over a 20 mile course around some of the Calder Valley’s harshest upland terrain. The race acted as the 4th fixture in the Todmorden Harriers’ Grand Prix, and 2nd fixture in the fell race championships. 17 Harriers completed the course, with Duncan Cannon leading the charge in 12th position overall, followed closely by Dan Taylor and Chris Kaye. Zoe Dijkman has a great race to finish first female for Todmorden, finishing in 8th position and 64th overall. Dave Garner and Kate Mansell both put in a typically strong and consistent runs to both finish 3rd in the Men’s and Women’s Vet 50 categories and Elise Milnes was 1st place in the Female Vet 60 category, all proving that Fell Running is the best anti-ageing remedy on the market. Notable mention also goes out to Andy Mcfie who put his race on hold to help another competitor who was having some difficulties with the onset of Hypothermia.
