Lee Mill Fell Relays, 25 Nov
Report by Darren Graham
Rossendale Harriers like to pick races with plenty of mud en route, for example the cross country over at Marls Pitts and the Lee Mill Relays guarantee mud at this time of year. 83 teams took part on Sunday morning in Rossendale and Tod Harriers had 3 teams competing. The womens V40 team took the limelight by clinching the first womens Vet 40’s prize. Great runs by team Captain Mel Blackhurst, Sally Chesworth, Lucy Hobbs and Louise Greenwood managed to put the team in overall 70th place. The Open Womens team came close, finishing in 71st position with the team made up of Kim Ashworth, Sue Roberts (pictured), Rebecca Senior and Zoe Dijkman. The Mens open age team consisted of Andrew Worster, who also recorded the 4th fastest time for his leg, Ben Holmes, Dwane Dixon & Dave Collins combining to finish in a hugely respectable 17th place.
