Round Rotherham Ultra Trail Race, 20 Oct
Report by Paul Alexander
Saturday saw the final race in the Todmorden Ultra Grand Prix. The Round Rotherham Trail race is a 50 mile circular route with over 3500ft of climbing. First ran in December 1983, it is now in its 35th year and is a well established race. The route follows trails around the countryside and with 7 well stocked checkpoints, runners are well looked after. 155 runners started in the early hours of Saturday morning and Darren Graham was the sole Tod Harrier among them. He finished in a respectable 29th place in 8.59.56, just short of the winning time of 6.00.52 run by Ben Hague of Rotherham Harriers.
