Salomon 50K Ultra from Keswick
Report by David Leslie
On a beautiful sunny summer day 5 Harriers made the trip up to Keswick for the 6am start. It was an amazing, scenic route with plenty of uphill (over 2000m of climb) and 54K of good running with flags every 100m or so making it impossible to get lost. Dwane Dixon on his first race back from a niggling injury flew round the course to finish 10th in 5.29, with Robin Tuddenham second home coming 18th in 5.45. Louise Stunell managed 7.20 and David Leslie was first and only ‘vintage’ competitor coming 137th in 8.19. Altogether an amazing day out seeing the Lakes scenery at its very best.
