Abraham’s Tea Round, 23 Feb
Saturday saw Darren Graham take on the recently new Lakeland Challange of the Abraham’s Tea Round. Starting and finishing at George Fisher’s shop, Keswick (the round is named after the cafe within the shop), the 30+ mile route and well over 12000ft of climbing visits the summits of Cat Bells, Robinson, High Style, Grisedale Pike, Hopegill Head, Eel Crag, Sail, Causey Pike, Rowling End and Barrow. He managed to get around in 8 hours 38 mins and 56 seconds and back in time to collect the ‘Golden Teacup’ tea and cake from the cafe. Although classed as a winter round due to running in February, the weather was warm enough to do it all in shorts!
