Stanbury Splash Fell Race, 15 Jan 2017
Race Report by Darren Graham
330 runners faced the bogs, mud and general wet, grimy conditions on the moors around Penistone Hill, Haworth on Sunday, taking part in the Stanbury Splash fell race. It certainly lived up to its name as conditions were wet from the start with many runners slipping and sliding all the way around the 7.5 miles route. 7 Harriers enjoyed this year’s conditions with Paul Hobbs finishing as first Toddy in a respectable 24th place in a time of 53.55. Chris Preston was 1st Toddy lady back in a time of 83.55. Full provisional Toddy results are….
• Paul Hobbs – 53.55
• Ben Crowther – 57.53
• Dave Collins – 63.24
• Jack Spencer – 65.41
• Simon Galloway – 73.19
• Chris Preston – 83.55
• Sue Roberts – 86.48
Delilah Swift was our solo Junior runner representing Tod Harriers and she ran in the Under 11’s race finishing a very creditable 10.19mins.
