Red Rose XC, leg 4 at Marl Pits, 3 Dec 2016

The 4th and final Red Rose Cross Country race was held on Saturday over at the notorious Marl Pits course in Rossendale. This year, the weather Gods smiled down on the runners giving much better conditions compared to other years, as this is a muddy, muddy course, even on a dry day!
Starting with the Ladies, the Tod Vet team came first in the series, beating their closest rivals, Bury, by a clear 10 points. There was great individual performances by all team members:
• Rebecca Patrick came 8th overall and also finished 2nd L45-49
• Mel Blackhurst finished 21st and, even more impressively, came 1st in the L50 category
• Kate Mansell finished 28th and also 3rd L45-49
• Michelle Fuller – 38th and 5th L45-49
• Clare Parfitt – 46th & 7th L40-44
• Louise Greenwood – 58th & 7th L45-49
Overall, the Ladies open age team finished 5th out of 15 teams.
