Orchan Rocks Fell Race, Apr 25, 2017
Race Report by Kate Mansell
Mid-week saw the 3rd running of the Orchan Rocks Fell Race with a great turn out of 24 Todmorden Harriers. Starting from the Staff of Life pub, it is a short blast of 3.4 miles, with 280m of climb, up to Knotts Cliffs, with a quick loop around the Orchan Rocks. Conditions were good considering the earlier hail showers. Alex Whittem was first home in 22.30 and Chris Goddard was the first Harrier back in 25.06 (5th overall). He was closely followed by Ben Crowther 25.49 and Darren Tweed 25.54 (6th and 7th). Paul Brannigan was first V50 and 14th overall in 27.16 and Rebecca Patrick was first woman 29.03 and 23rd overall. Second Todmorden lady was Lisa Kaye in a time of 31.12, 30th overall, a great run for her first ever fell race.
