4 Toddies finished comfortably in the top 60 of the field at the Leighton Hall trail race. Mark Tempest probably running his best result for Tod coming 13th out of 251 runners and 3rd V50. The race was put on by Pennine Trails and they are proving to be extremely popular with just about every race selling out, making the result all the more impressive. Sam Lund alao came in a very commendable 31st with Darren Gillman (45th) and Katie Samuelson (58th) making up the Todmorden contingent.
Also taking place on Saturday was Ellenborough’s Coledale horseshoe. The stunning route takes in over 3500ft of elevation in just over 8 miles and as such is one for the stouter legged. Richard “Buddy” Butterwick was the only Toddie in attendance. Using the race as training whilst coming back from an ankle sprain Buddy described the race as “generally a nice hilly walk” and came 222/274.
