Pilgrims Cross fell race in the Todmorden Harriers GP for the 2nd successive year, attracting 28 Toddies for a lovely summer evening fell race. Only 9 competed in 2023 so word must have got around what a great race this, mixed terrain, plenty of ascents and descents with great views. Or maybe everyone heard it was a good old-fashioned bargain £5 entry-on-the-day kind of race!
Local friendly rivals Calder Valley also had this in their club championship and claimed 1st and 2nd place. But not too far behind were the first Toddies with Ashley Wright in 6th and Ben Blosse in 8th. Duncan Cannon was 3rd Tod over the line in 19th overall taking the second M40 prize too.
For the Tod ladies, Janine McGregor-Stead was 2nd lady in 30th overall, with Rebecca Howell in 70th and Hannah Prince in 91st.
Todmorden also took some more age category prizes with Jon Wright 2nd M50, Kath Brierley 1st F60 and Andrew Bibby 2nd M70.
