Over the hill in Lancashire, the beautiful Piethorne and Ogden Valley once again hosted the 2nd Piethorne 10k fell race. Situated to the south of Hollingworth Lake, this little gem area is little known but has a great network of paths and tracks to suite both runners and cyclist.
116 runners set off at 10am Sunday morning to take on the 10k route with just under 300 mtrs of runnable climbing. 6 Toddies took part with Ricky Parrish, coming back from injury, being the first Toddy to cross the line in 14th place with a time of 49:22 Sheila Shackleton won the female Vet 65 category in 1:16:26. Paul Colledge made this race his first race since May when he took on the epic 8-day Cape Wrath Ultra with a comfortable time of 1:00:43.
