As the clock struck 7 on Tuesday evening, a sea of Toddies began their charge through the streets of Littleborough for the Littleborough Lions 5k. The latest road race to feature in the Grand Prix, the race was very much on the Harriers’ doorstep and the Toddies were out in full force with a fantastic turnout of 42 white, red and blue vests lined up and ready to race under the golden evening sun.
They said it would be fast, and it certainly didn’t disappoint, with Toddies’ Andy Worster taking the honours for the men with a blistering time of 15.59, and Emma Fielder leading the charge for the women as third fastest with an impressive 21.20.
Dom Leckie put in a great effort to bring home third place for the men with a time of 18.20, and both the men’s and women’s V60 category were topped by Mark Anderton and Kath Brierly with speedy times of 21.11 and 22.57 respectively.
There were more great individual performances across the board (see below!), with Toddies making up 7 of the top 10 finishers overall. All in all, a top day out with the Lions!
