The local race, organised by Todmorden Harriers very own Dan Taylor, takes competitors from The Staff of Life pub up to Hoofstones Heights, the highest point in Todmorden, and back again. The conditions on the day were testing, with mist, or ‘clag’ as its more commonly known within fell running circles, covering the valley, making navigation difficult. There was a total of 67 runners competing and the first finisher for Todmorden Harriers was Danny Aspinall who put in an impressive performance in his first race back following injury. He managed 5th place and was closely followed by Ian Symington in 7th and Chris Kay in 15th, the trio going on to win the men’s team prize. Thanks must go out to The Staff of Life pub for hosting the event which saw £200 being raised for charity.
