Haworth Hobble, 11 March 2017

On Saturday 11th March, the ever popular 32 mile Haworth Hobble took place, combining some of the best Pennine paths over the moors from Haworth with some of Calderdale’s iconic features such as Stoodley Pike. With 4400ft of elevation, this longstanding ultra distance course saw 367 competitors take to the hills for a grand day out.
The first back was Thomas Payn (unattached) in an astounding 3.54.18. The first lady was Julie Briscoe in a brisk 4.31.54 for 20th overall. There were 10 Todmorden Harriers brave enough to test themselves in this well established ultra distance bonanza. First of them home was Rob Tyson in a fantastic 5.23.22 for 87th place followed by Peter Bowles in 5.38.43 for 117th and Jo Daniels sneaking under the 6hr mark in 5.58.57 for 152nd. Dan Taylor also put in a gutsy performance as he continues to strengthen to full fitness. He finished in a respectable 6.25.25 to make the top 200.
Solid performances were also put in by the ladies Zoe Dijkman, Kim Ashworth, Louise Greenwood coming in around the 6.45 mark. Full Toddie results:
