Foe Edge Fell Race, 30 May
Report by Paul Alexander
The Harriers GP continued on Wednesday 30th May with the Foe Edge fell race near Waterfoot. This short sharp 6.6km blast features 300m of climb and attracted 92 runners with a great Toddie turnout of 20.
Rebecca Patrick stole the show for the club with a sterling effort to finish 1st lady in 40.12 with more than a minute to spare over her closest rival. Team mate Kate Mansell also put in a strong display to finish 3rd lady overall in 42.35 whilst Melanie Blackhurst was 1st v50 in 43.09. This fab female trio also scooped the Ladies team prize.
Andrew Worster came tantalisingly close to winning the race to finish in 30.53 for 2nd place, just 6 seconds behind Josh Boyle of the Ron Hill club. Darren Tweed (Foe) edged just 12s ahead of club rival Duncan Cannon to finish in 36.15 for 12th with Craig Stansfield finishing as 1st v50 in 37.10. Paul Brannigan and David O’Neill had a great battle of cat and mouse throughout the race with Paul just out-pacing David in the latter stages to finish one place ahead.
