Flower Scar Fell Race, 17 Feb
Report by Darren Graham
Todmorden Harriers were the host of the ever popular Flower Scar Fell Race on Saturday at the Cricket ground. 185 runners completed the tough, hilly and muddy course of just over 13k with 660mtrs of climbing. Helped with wintry conditions under foot and mist on the tops, these conditions had everything to make a perfect fell race. The route starts within Centre Vale Park and heads directly over to Flower Scar, with route choices on offer to the runners over the tops before heading north for a roller coaster ride along the edge of the valley before the final descent back to the finish. Ivan Gee (pictured) was the first Toddy back with a very respectable 7th place, just missing out on the V45 category win. Howard Darwin, running his first race as a Toddy, finished 58th and Kerry Edwards, the first Toddy Lady back in 94th place. Full Toddy results….
