Over in Shaw, Oldham, a gorgeous summer evening provided the backdrop for the short but challenging Eddie’s Revenge fell race. Only 3.8 miles, but with 1100 feet of all runnable climbing, it is a real lung-buster of a race around quarries, woods, and open moorland, excellently organised by Middleton Harriers. Duncan Cannon was the only Todmorden Harrier in action and had a strong race to finish in 11th place out of 155 finishers in 28:27. Winners were Andrew Fleet in 25:50 and Martha Tibbot in 28:08, both of Saddleworth Runners.
