The bank holiday weekend came up trumps with the weather for the Todmorden Harriers who descended on the Duddon Valley for the annual fell race. The event is a classic fell race covering 18 miles around the head of the Duddon Valley with 6000ft of climb over Harter, Hardknott, Little Stand, Swirl How, Dow Crag, White Pike and Caw. In a strong field Doni Clarke showed his class with a 2nd place finish overall. In the age categories Robert Halstead had a great result finishing 3rd in the male 60 category.

NorthowRun 5 Miler – 3rd June 2022
The NorthowRun 5 race took place on Friday 3rd June and saw 214 keen runners taking part in the local event. The route takes participants around the very best areas of Northowram in Halifax and profits from the race go towards The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. There was only one Todmorden Harrier taking part however she made her presence known. Janine McGregor Stead continued her great form with 3rd female and 1st in the seniors F35 category.
The Trans-Pennine 100 – 3rd June to 5th June 2022
For some people the best way to celebrate the Jubilee bank holiday weekend was to complete a 100-mile walking / running event the Peak District. One of those people was Todmorden Harrier Charles Colburn who took part in his first 100-mile event. ‘Prince’ Charles successfully completed the event and was supported along the way by several fellow Harriers.
