This week saw a return to the trail championships in a GP double header, the first of which being a potentially record breaking turnout. 45 Toddies turned out on a warm Tuesday evening to have a blast around the now 5k Cowm Res 5k race. A short uphill start (which doubles as a quick downhill finish) is the only “tough” aspect of this potential pb course.
Shortly behind Alex Whittem (2nd) saw Dom Leckie and Ben Blosse continue their season long battle, with Dom proving to slightly more in the tank on the final stretch pipping Ben to 5th. The two real contenders for performance of the evening though are Nev Drake, who had an excellent run and is well in the running to win the trail champs, and Dave Collins (current M65 English Fell Running Champion) who cycled the 15 miles from Mytholmroyd to get around the course in under 24 minutes. Not too shabby!
