Clough Head Fell Race, 5th May

As part of the English Fell Championships, the Clough Head fell race took place on Saturday 5th May. This tough course features 4.5miles and 1800ft of climb. Spurred on by the free pie waiting at the finish, 11 Tod Harriers turned up for this gem of a race.
In the Men’s event, Andrew Worster ran a great race to finish in an incredible 13th place in a time of 39.32 as the first Harrier to return. Dwane Dixon also looked to be returning to great form finishing in 47.38 for 113 place with Craig Stansfield not far behind in 48.09 for 119th place of the 260 men in action. The overall Men’s winner was Mark Lamb of Keswick AC in 37.31.
In the Ladies race, Annie Roberts continued to show her running prowess with a great time of 49.41 for 20th position from the 116 sized field whilst Rebecca Patrick put in a strong performance to finish 8th v40 in 53.28. Melanie Blackhurst also finished a fantastic 8th v50 in a time of of 57.56. The winner of the Ladies race was Hannah Horsburgh of Keswick AC in 41.58.
