Castle Carr Fell Race, 2 Sept
Report by Darren Graham
Sunday saw the 3rd running of this tough, hilly fell race. With 15 miles and just short of 4000ft of climbing, this is a tough race which featured in last year’s English Championships. This year saw 35 runners start from the Hare and Hounds pub, Old Town, where the route takes in the superb private estate of Castle Carr and much of Midgley Moor. 5 Toddies took part with Andrew Worster, fresh from his exploits on Ben Nevis the day earlier, taking 2nd place, hotly pursued by Paul Hobbs who finished within a minute of Andrew. Dave Collins continued his comeback by clinching the 1st Vet 60 prize and Sally Chesworth finished 2nd lady and 1st Female Vet 50. Full Toddy results……
