It was back to the road for Race 10 of the Grand Prix, with a trip up to the delightful village of Calder Vale near Garstang. (For the geographically confused who knew the Calder started as a trickle over in Lancashire but surely not that far up…this is a different Calder.) A fast course around quiet country lanes, with a deceptive downhill first mile and never quite enough climbing to call hilly, but certainly not flat either, this is a good test of what you’ve got in the tank from mile 8 onwards.
Jon Wright showed the young guns how it’s done with a solid 7th-placed finish, picking up some beer for 2nd V50. Not too far behind was Dom Leckie – reversing their positions last time out…winner takes all next time eh? Chris Goddard was third home for Tod, picking up the 1st V40 prize and a mug plus some more beer. Meanwhile Katie Samuelson was first Tod lady with a strong run for 2nd V40.
