RHYADER ROUND THE LAKES, 3 Mar

A group Of Toddies travelled down to Mid Wales on Saturday to take part in the Rhyader Round the lakes 30k road race. Starting in the village of Rhyader, the route takes runners around the Elan valley Reservoirs. A demanding route with nearly 1800ft of climbing, runners are also exposed to the weather as the road climbs to just below 1600ft high. 526 runners took part this year and Robin Tuddenham was the first Toddy back in a time of 2.13.52 giving him 26th place and 2nd vet 50. Dave Garner finished strong to take 49th place with a time of 2.21.00. Darren Graham finished in 80th place with a time of 2.26.25. Elise Milnes ran strong in 3.13.49 giving her 377th place, closely followed by Julie Graham in 414th place with a time of 3.22.49.
Graham Milnes meanwhile, took part in the 5 mile run starting in the beautiful Elan Valley and heading back to Rhyader. He took 46.11 mins to claim 71st place out of 146 runners.
