The Tod Harriers trail champs went off with a bang this past weekend with a club favourite in the form of the ‘Hit-The-Trail’ 5 mile race in Stockport on Sunday. 382 runners toed the start line in preparation to blow off the cobwebs and put their mince-pie fuel to good use.
Some fantastic results ensued for the 25 enthusiastic Harriers. Darren Shackleton showed his fine form hadn’t been tampered with over the Christmas break with a very impressive 3rd place finish in 28.20. Next up was Darren Tweed who came in just over the 30 minute mark to finish 11th overall and 4th v40 in 30:10.
A great performance from Kerry Edwards no doubt underpinned by her speed work training gave her 12th overall female and 5th v45 in 37:19 whilst Elise Milnes turned on the after-burners to finish 2nd female V60 in 41:29.
Nina Fedorski also made a brave comeback to racing by putting in a determined and gutsy performance to cross the line 1:03:15.
Race winner Paul Savage from Prestwich AC finished in 27:44 whilst Caitlin Rice from Glossopdale Harriers won in 30:11.
